WHAT YOUR ROLE ENTAILS AND HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE
As an Associate Visual Merchandising (VM) Retail Designer, you’ll create compelling Hallmark branded retail environments, fixture concepts, and merchandising systems that engage consumers across a range of retail environments and spaces helping connect consumers with Hallmark products and services. You will work collaboratively in a cross functional team with industry experts including graphic design, visual merchandising, engineering and supply chain.
In this position, you’ll be responsible for:
Creative Concept Development: Deliver innovative visual merchandising concepts across a wide range of solutions from individual merchandising components to branded store environments. Use industry knowledge of materials, process and design trends in development of Hallmark branded solutions. Work in cross functional teams producing integrated, consumer-centric displays of fixtures, merchandising, and graphics.
Visual Communication: Communicate concepts through multiple mediums including visual renderings, sketches and 3D models. Present ideas to internal teams and external partners. Create presentation materials that document the creative process and solutions against objectives.
Project Management: Manage personal workload and deliverables across 2-4 projects from simple to complex. Oversee the end-to-end design process from concept development to production. Meet schedule, cost and quality standards. Communicate status of projects with project leaders and visual managers.
Documentation/Specification: Prepare documentation of approved solutions for hand-off to production and suppliers through die-lines, design control drawings, and specifications. Update internal libraries with new fixture solutions and components. Prepare part level documentation to order management system partners. Oversee creation of fixture and display installation instructions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of professional work experience in Industrial Design, Retail Design, Architecture, or a related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong skills in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and AutoCAD
Creative flair with an understanding of brand identity and customer-centric design
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment

- This position is hybrid, working 1-2 days a week onsite at our headquarters in Kansas City, MO
