We are searching for a Cash Application Specialist to join our client's team in Kansas City, Kansas. The role involves a range of duties including cash application, account reconciliation, and customer communication in a fast-paced setting. This is a contract to permanent employment opportunity that offers the chance to gain valuable experience in the finance industry.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately apply daily customer payments received through various channels to customer accounts using SAP and IREC Intelligent Receivable cash application software.

• Process and review remittance information, using this data to reconcile customer accounts effectively.

• Balance and reconcile spreadsheets that track daily cash application by division, ensuring accurate detail is maintained across systems.

• Communicate with internal and external accounting personnel to resolve any issues or discrepancies in customer accounts.

• Distribute short pay credit memos and supporting detail to the appropriate accounting personnel.

• Engage in communication with customers' accounts payable personnel to resolve any questions regarding payment application.

• Process and reconcile remote bank deposits using a remote deposit bank scanner.

• Prepare electronic payment remittance detail and backup for scanning into our archive storage database.

• Provide assistance to the supervisor in most cash application duties as needed.

• Assist and support Credit and Collections managers with department projects and other duties.

Requirements • Proficiency in the English language

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and payment processing

• Ability to review and analyze financial data

• Familiarity with database management

• Proficiency in using 'About Time' software

• Experience in scanning and digital storage of documents

• Knowledge of collection processes and credit management

• Proficiency in using spreadsheets and Microsoft Office Suites

• Understanding of consumer electronics market

• Experience in handling customer accounts

• Knowledge of cost analysis and backup technologies

• Experience in handling bank deposits and cash applications

• Knowledge of credit memo processing

• Proficiency in using various software programs

• Experience in processing remittance

• Understanding of daily deposit procedures.
