Responsibilities You will serve as the principal advisor and senior technical and regulatory authority in matters related to environmental program management. You will develop and coordinate implementation of a compliance framework and strategy for base-wide land, air, and water resources, and environmental compliance programs to ensure regulatory compliance. You will ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local laws and Department of Defense, Department of Navy and Marine Corps regulations and requirements in order to develop, implement and manage environmental programs. You will develop, implement, and manage new programs where specific guidance is not available and procedures require frequent modification to incorporate revised theories and techniques. You will accomplish personnel management functions, to include establishing performance standards, evaluating performance, serving as the reviewing official on performance evaluations, initiating personnel actions and approving recruits. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Evaluating and overseeing the implementation of environmental program management affecting base and tenant activities AND determine and implement viable solutions for meeting environmental compliance and regulatory requirements that are cost effective and minimize environmental liabilities. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.90% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time. Vacancies filled from this announcement may be filled at any grade level listed.
