Logan Health Lead SPARK Assistant - PRN in Kalispell, Montana

Job Description Summary:

This position assists with the Sports, Physical Activities and Recreation for Kids (S.P.A.R.K) program. Assists in preparing and implementing appropriate age specific activities for children.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in physical education or related field preferred. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

  • CPR certification successfully obtained within ninety (90) days of hire required.

  • Previous work experience with children and youth preferred.

  • Ability to work within stated budgets and works with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Develops and implements daily lesson plans. Develops new games and activities that can be incorporated, closely monitors activity sessions, follows lesson plan and makes appropriate adjustments as applicable.

  • Works closely with appropriate stakeholders to ensure the safety of all children participating.

  • Exhibits a safety first approach and foresees potential safety problems and immediately addresses per department procedure.

  • Plans, organizes and implements various sport leagues as applicable.

  • Treats participants with honesty and respect while maintaining established standards for discipline and control.

  • Assists in developing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating appropriate age-specific programs and activities.

  • Develops parent relationships and provides program.

  • Creates an environment to grow holistically (socially, emotionally, physically, and environmentally). Exhibits and generates enthusiasm regarding a healthy lifestyle behavior. Instills confidence in children regarding their ability to participate.

  • Lead may be expected to perform one (1) or more of the following tasks regularly:

  • Creates work schedule and assigns employees to specific work tasks.

  • Trains or coordinates the training of assigned staff.

  • Oversees and coordinates successful completion of employees’ competency assessments and required training.

  • Acts as point-of-contact/subject matter expert for employee questions about expectations and processes.

  • Assists in interviewing job candidates.

  • Leads or coordinates compliance and quality efforts.

  • Other duties as assigned at the discretion of management, excluding issuing corrective actions or administering performance evaluations.

Schedule Details:

Please know schedules and shifts are subject to change based on patient care and department/organizational needs.

Schedule: Hours vary due to school calendar year and need for coverage (after school program, summer break, etc.).

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
