Logan Health Lead Facilities Technician in Kalispell, Montana

Job Description Summary:

This position performs as Lead in a variety of functions in relation to building, equipment, and grounds maintenance for facilities, outbuildings, jobsites and affiliates in assigned area(s).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) of the following required:

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ vocational training.

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in large building/complex.

  • Previous experience in a leadership role preferred.

  • Required licenses vary by work location. A minimum of one (1) of the following is required:

  • Montana State Boilers License

  • Certified Pool/Spa Operators License

  • EPA Certification

  • To be eligible at the Summit Medical Fitness Center (SMFC) location:

  • AED certification successfully obtained within ninety (90) days of hire.

  • Low Pressure Boilers License successfully obtained within eighteen (18) months of hire.

  • Certified Pool / Spa Operator License successfully obtained within eighteen (18) months of hire.

  • To be eligible for the Driver portion of the position:

  • Current Driver’s License required.

  • Driving record for the previous thirty-six (36) months must not reflect any major driving offenses (i.e; DUI, convicted of a felony involving a motor vehicle, suspended license, three (3) or more speeding tickets or other moving violations, etc.).

  • In addition, personal vehicles used for LH business:

  • State law minimum liability coverage limits required.

  • Possess a working knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precaution standards set forth by regulators including, but not limited to; OSHA, NFPA, EPA, ASHRE required.

  • Proven ability in all skilled trades related to a variety of facility and grounds maintenance, repairs, procedures and techniques preferred.

  • Possess ability to operate a wide-variety of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary to perform facility and grounds maintenance and repairs preferred.

  • Possess ability to understand and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings related to the construction preferred.

  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed. Experience with maintenance management software and smartphones preferred.

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Coordinates, schedules and follows-up on work orders. Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs maintenance problems to include, but may not be limited to; electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, carpentry, flooring, departmental vehicles, machinery and equipment, and pool/spa operations; all within regulatory guidelines.

  • Schedules, updates, assigns and performs preventative maintenance duties and ensures safety and effectiveness on various types of machinery, equipment, and systems throughout the facilities. These include, but may not be limited to; industrial and commercial heating and air conditioning systems, lighting, boilers, laundry, refrigeration, department-specific equipment and/or vehicles, chiller equipment, pool and spa water quality and associated equipment.

  • Assists leadership in oversight of projects as assigned.

  • Follows up appropriately regarding status of work and/or projects.

  • Maintains the assigned area’s inventory, researches and orders parts as needed.

  • Performs, trains, and directs work for pest management duties and pesticide applications as needed.

  • Safely and efficiently operates, secures, services, stores and cleans vehicles, machinery, equipment and tools for assigned area(s).

  • Assists leadership in budgeting for assigned area, construction projects and capital planning Exhibits efficiency in use of time, products, materials, and assists department in the controlling of material and labor costs.

  • Assembles furniture and/or equipment and assists with the relocating of offices and staff throughout assigned area(s).

  • Assists with snow removal around assigned facility and its outbuildings.

  • Performs flooring installation, door installation, various patching & painting, and hanging of miscellaneous items.

  • Actively continues education to keep abreast of new technology, equipment changes, retrofits, and/or codes. Provides training, guidance and staff education regarding equipment, safety and departmental protocols.

  • Lead may be expected to perform one (1) or more of the following tasks regularly:

  • Creates work schedule and assigns employees to specific work tasks.

  • Trains or coordinates the training of assigned staff.

  • Oversees and coordinates successful completion of employees’ competency assessments and required training.

  • Acts as point-of-contact/subject matter expert for employee questions about expectations and processes.

  • Assists in interviewing job candidates.

  • Leads or coordinates compliance and quality efforts.

  • Other duties as assigned at the discretion of management, excluding issuing corrective actions or administering performance evaluations.

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
