Job Description Summary:
Logan Health, located in beautiful Kalispell, Montana, is looking for a Certified Dietitian - Outpatient Diabetes Educator to join their team!
The ideal candidate will have their CDCES or BC-ADM certification.
We may also consider applicants without an advanced certification with the expectation that they obtain one of the above certifications within 2 years of hire, and complete 15 hours of diabetes-related continuing education annually.
This position provides nutrition care according to professional standards to all assigned area(s).
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Sciences or Advanced degree from an accredited institution with emphasis in foods and nutrition required.
Credentialed as Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) by Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) though the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) required.
Licensed by the Montana State Board of Medical Examiners to function as a Nutritionist required.
Active specialty certification(s) per assigned area(s) required.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist required. Minimum one (1) year experience in health care setting preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year experience in a specialty area required.
Required CPR vary by work location:
Logan Health Medical Center: RQI Responder
Logan Health Medical Fitness Center: Heartsaver CPR/AED
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences. Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Job Specific Duties:
Screens, accesses, and identifies nutrition diagnosis, provides nutrition intervention, monitors and evaluates individuals.
Participates in multi-disciplinary rounds, coordinates staff nutrition education/research updates, and assists department in staying abreast of nutrition standards of care and competencies.
Provides clinical dietetic and nutrition services per consult and classes to assigned area(s).
Exhibits a commitment to professionalism while undertaking all tasks and in all interactions with patients, clients, physicians, facility staff and the community at large.
Effectively utilizes electronic health records (EHR) and clearly documents nutrition interventions, outcomes, and plan of care in a timely fashion.
Incorporates data from members of the healthcare team to assess patient knowledge and provide nutrition education and resources to patients, families and staff.
Assists healthcare team in the reviewing and updating of nutrition related organizational policies for areas of specialty.
Mentors students and interns.
Participates in organizational and community events that support nutrition services, including, but not limited to; performance improvements, revisions of standards of care, patient education materials, and National Nutrition Month.
Exhibits vigilance of unit specific and organizational wide budget constraints as evidenced by appropriate utilization of all resources, which includes, but is not limited to; supplies, overtime, low census and timeliness of work product.
Prioritizes workload and reflects flexibility in job function to meet the demands of the department.

Schedule:
Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
