Logan Health Associate Payroll Specialist in Kalispell, Montana

Job Description Summary:

This position serves as a resource regarding pay practices and payroll processing guidelines. Participates in activities related to the preparation and processing of payroll.

Qualifications:

  • Basic Accounting knowledge required. Knowledge may be acquired through high school or college level accounting classes, an accredited degree, or self-taught.

  • Experience with time and attendance and payroll software preferred.

  • Knowledge of State and Federal wage and hour laws preferred.

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-started, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Assists with analyzing data trends, abstracting data, and creating timely reports and recommendations to the leadership team.

  • Assists with creating and participating in the training, implementation, and maintenance of computer system programs.

  • Acts as the primary resources for the time and attendance software system.

  • Maintains timecards in accordance with system pay practices and policies per department procedures.

  • Works with managers and supervisors to support time off requests, inter-department floating accuracy, training, and education on clocking and pay code utilization.

  • Works in collaboration with Payroll team to process and audit the time and attendance duties per organizational standards.

  • Assists appropriate stakeholders in analysis reporting verifications.

  • Exhibits a high degree of integrity and maintains confidentially at all times. Exhibits a commitment to professionalism while undertaking all tasks and in all interactions.

  • Assists with training department and/or supervisor levels as applicable to department protocol.

  • Works closely with Payroll team with bi-weekly payroll processing.

  • Investigates and researches problem scenarios and performs appropriate corrections and/or coordinates with stakeholders for corrections.

  • Maintains records and reports to ensure continuous improvement in aspects of timekeeping.

  • Assists with general payroll processing information and serves as backup support for the payroll team.

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
