Summary About the Position: The mission of the Area Support Group (ASG) Balkans is to provide Title 10 base operations support at Camp Bondsteel and throughout the surrounding AOR. This includes, but is not limited to, providing life support, logistics support, base camp operations to US forces in the Area of Responsibility (AOR), reception, staging, and onward movement of US forces, fiscal management and budgetary activities, and coordination of force protection of US military and government civilians Responsibilities Serves as a Logistic Management Specialist responsible for coordination with Joint, Army, and NATO staff counterparts for the planning and execution of U.S. logistics requirements relating to Operation Joint Guardian (OJG). Plans, coordinates, directs, and attends conferences, coordination meetings; and Video Tele Conferences (VTCs) in the formulization of detailed logistic planning and execution. The incumbent prepares, coordinates, and refines requirements for U.S. rotational units in Kosovo. Coordinates compilation, validation, and submission of OJG logistic support requirements. The applicant will be placed on Temporary Change of Station (TCS) orders to Kosovo from Kaiserslautern, Germany. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing policies, logistic guidance and orders in support of military contingency operations; conducting detailed analysis to identify necessary changes to logistical support; AND developing and/or briefing reports and analysis to senior military and civilian employees. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications Customer Service Problem Solving Technical Documentation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-?11). For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Direct deposit of pay is required. U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement. Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area. Employees who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only. Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions. Selectees may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc. Selectees will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI 1400.25 volume 1250.
