Scientist Enzyme Analytics (24-month Fixed Term Contract)

Location: Kaiseraugst, Switzerland

Based in Kaiseraugst, Switzerland with dsm-firmenich this is a fixed term contract role for 2 years. As our Scientist Enzyme Analytics, you will become an integral part of the enzyme analytics team within the animal nutrition business.

Your primary responsibility will be to lead the analytical design, development, and final validation of assays in collaboration with cross-organizational project teams.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Conducting literature research to inform the design, development, and validation of novel analytical methods (such as immune-assays and enzymatic activity assays) across various matrices.

  • Ensuring the verification and seamless transfer of assays to external laboratories for routine analysis.

  • Collaborating with lab technicians in planning daily activities during the development phase and taking ownership of protocols, reports, and documentation in the validation stages.

  • Introducing innovative solutions to enhance the speed, miniaturization, and automation of sample preparation and of the overall analytical workflow, including data acquisition, analysis, and visualization.

  • Serving as the key analytical expert in cross-organizational project teams.

  • Conducting customer visits and bringing expert technical support for troubleshooting activities

  • Participating in external networking activities

  • Contributing to the development of lab strategy and overall competence.

You bring:

  • A Masters Degree with experience, or a PhD in biology, biochemistry, enzymologyor related fields.

  • Hands-on experience in assay development and/or optimization.

  • Preferably some experience in feed analysis and enzymatic activity assays.

  • Adaptability in work approach, suitable for both early-stage projects focused on ideation and late-stage projects with defined procedures, regulatory considerations, and quality requirements.

  • A receptive attitude towards new work methodologies, including digitalization and automation.

  • Motivation, proactivity, and a collaborative mindset, capable of working flexibly across diverse projects and engaging with internal and external stakeholders in an international setting.

  • Proficiency in English is essential
