Job Title: Production Technician

Job Description

As a Production Technician, you will be responsible for visually inspecting serial numbers and part conditions, interpreting inspection documentation, managing tooling and consumable inventories, and performing liquid and tape masking on components. You will also conduct manual and robotic pre-process grit blasting for thermal spray, utilize precision measuring equipment, and operate atmospheric and vacuum furnaces under direct supervision. Additionally, you will assist operators in equipment setup, operate small cranes and forklifts, and carry out assigned technician work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspect serial numbers and part conditions to verify if parts are acceptable.

  • Interpret findings from inspection documentation activities and react according to established procedures.

  • Track and manage tooling and consumable inventories.

  • Perform liquid and tape masking on components using various tools and equipment according to WI/Drawings to maintain coating allowances.

  • Perform manual and robotic pre-process grit blasting for thermal spray on components according to specifications and interpret results.

  • Utilize precision measuring equipment as required to check work and record in electronic database.

  • Conduct in-process inspection of own work and work of others before part movement to next operation.

  • Operate controls on atmospheric and vacuum furnaces under direct supervision, load and unload own work.

  • Understand loading configurations and AMS2750 requirements for furnaces and locations of job aides.

  • Assist operators in setting up their equipment and maintain tooling.

  • Operate small cranes and forklifts to move equipment, parts, and material.

  • Enter and confirm data in the required quality documentation.

  • Report and monitor abnormal production time per production step.

  • Independently carry out assigned technician work and correct non-conforming hardware during the reconditioning process where applicable.

  • Train entry-level technicians for coating prep, braze, and heat treatment.

  • Set up and install brazing equipment according to process requirements.

  • Execute brazing requirements on gas turbine components as per the required technical specification for joining and putty braze.

  • Experience with grinding and blasting of components for braze preparation according to specification.

  • Advise and/or participate in the design and fabrication of brazing tools and fixtures as required.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience with skills in grinding, blending coatings, coatings application, coatings removal (strip line), blasting, heat treat, machining or welding.

  • 2+ years of experience with interpretation of technical drawings or work instructions.

  • 2+ years of experience in a production or maintenance environment.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes.

  • Basic knowledge of MS Office programs, SAP, time keeping applications, and folder structures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Experience with power tools like die grinders, right-angle grinders, and belt sanders.

  • Experience with grinding, polishing, and finishing techniques.

  • Good knowledge of abrasive materials such as wheels, belts, discs, etc.

  • Experience with manufacturing, assembly, auto body repairs, fiberglass, woodworking, and painting (spray booth operation).

Work Environment

You will work in a warehouse environment with air conditioning. The facility is very organized and clean, and you will rotate between different departments to gain various skills. Safety shoes rated by ASTM F 2413-05 or ANSI Z41-1999 are required, with I/C (Impact/Compression), EH (Electrical Hazard), and SD (Static Dissipative) ratings. Shifts are 1st shift from 5:30am to 4:00pm and 2nd shift from 3:00pm to 1:30am.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jupiter, Florida.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00
