Max Planck Florida Institute HVAC Mechanic (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning Mechanic) in Jupiter, Florida
We are currently seeking a qualified and motivated individual for an HVACR Mechanic position.
Working within our Facilities team, the selected individual will:
- Operate, maintain and repair refrigerant compressors, condensers, evaporators, traps, pumps, expansion valves, stop valves, float valves, and refrigerant lines and devices used to control temperature
- Operate, maintain, and repair chilled water with re-heat building HVAC systems including: Centrifugal chillers, air cooled chillers, cooling towers, pumps, electric motors, VFD's, dampers, valves, steam boilers, gas fired boilers, AHUs, FCUs, and exhaust fans
- Operate, maintain and repair natural and manufactured gas distribution lines, including all valves and control devices
- Conduct visual inspections of mechanical systems and spaces, document readings, note those that are outside acceptable tolerances and, when appropriate, rectify deficiencies
- Assist in the creation and execution of Preventative Maintenance of all equipment
- Coordinate with and supervise outside subcontractors, vendors and trades as needed such as electrical and plumbing to keep all systems operating at highest reliability
- Other duties as assigned or as appropriate.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four (4) years of related experience is required, preferably within a laboratory, hospital, university or similar facility.
- The selected candidate must possess the requisite licenses and permits required by local laws and ordinances to operate, repair and maintain HVAC and Refrigeration equipment and systems.
- Must have experience working in service and new construction commercial HVAC and must have experience with walk-in DX coolers/cold rooms and repairing modifying hard duct work.
- In addition, must have attention to detail and accuracy, communication skills, discretion, professional judgment, ethics and confidentiality.
- Must be available for on-call emergency coverage.
