Position Specific Description

You will be interning with the IDEA.AI team at NextEra. We are a group of data scientists leveraging cutting-edge AI and ML technologies to revolutionize the energy sector. We work on projects that support many aspects of NextEra and FPL business.

What You'll Experience:

  • Work alongside a team of experienced data scientists, collaborating on a real-world project that impacts NextEra's operations

  • Gain exposure to state-of-the-art AI/ML technologies in the energy industry

  • Participate in a structured summer program that includes mentorship, technical workshops, and networking opportunities

  • Build Valuable connections within the industry and potential for future career opportunities

Responsibilities:

  • Complete challenging project assigned by the IDEA.AI team

  • Participate in technical team meetings and contribute your ideas

  • Present your final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship

Job Overview

To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists department with assigned projects

  • Completes challenging projects and assignments

  • Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship

  • Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school grad / GED

  • Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program

  • Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
