About the Role:

We’re seeking a strong technologist to support and grow partnerships with key Technology partners. In this pivotal role, you'll drive various technical initiatives and activities for our partners, including integration design and support, joint solutions, account engagement, enablement, and more. Your contributions will be instrumental in growing and deepening our Connect with Confluent partnerships, playing a significant part in our company's growth. In this role, you’ll work with the most prominent technology partners and brand-new startups, keeping you at the forefront of the industry.

Successful Partner Solutions Engineers typically have backgrounds as Developers, Technical Account Managers, Solution Architects, Solution Engineers, Professional Services or Product Specialists, but they all share a passion for expanding Confluent’s partner ecosystem and delivering the best of that world to our customers. This role offers significant opportunities for career growth within our expanding Tech Ecosystem team.

What You Will Do:

• Ensure that customers have the best possible experience for integrating Confluent and Partner products in the ecosystem

• Work with Partners to build differentiated integration that highlights Confluent Technology.

• Collaborate with ISV and Product teams to determine a roadmap of partner integrations

• Define, build, and deliver repeatable solutions that highlight the partner and Confluent joint value propositions

• Own relationships with key technical leaders

• Support Partner technical initiatives such as partner-driven scalable GTM assets, partner team enablement workshops, assessment, advice, and coaching

• Advocate on behalf of Partners’ technical concerns (use cases, feature requests, support issues, e.g.) with Confluent internal teams, helping to bring those concerns to resolution

• Provide architecture guidance and recommendations across solutions, offerings, and customer opportunities

• Author whitepapers, technical articles, and blog posts

• Help scale the team by building reusable content and programs

• Empower partners on emerging technologies using knowledge on advanced topics, such as leveraging LLMs (Large Language Models) for real-time data enrichment, or integrating generative AI frameworks into streaming pipelines.

• Collaborate with internal teams including Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing and Support.

• Represent Confluent at select in-person conferences.

What You Will Bring:

• 8+ years of Solutions Engineering or similar work experience

• Experience with Event-Driven architecture, Data Integration & Processing Techniques

• Experience with Database, Data Warehouse and Data Lake/Lakehouse technologies and Data Engineering.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience architecting enterprise solutions for customers and partners

• First-Hand exposure to Cloud Architecture, Migrations, Deployment & Application Development

• Proficiency in Java or Python and SQL

• Demonstrated experience leveraging generative AI and related technologies.

• Exceptional program management skills and attention to detailUnderstanding of the ecosystem surrounding Confluent and Kafka

• Ability to prioritize across multiple projects

• Clear, consistent demonstration of self-starter behavior, a desire to learn new things and tackle hard technical problems

• Good presentation and communication capabilities. Confidence presenting to a highly skilled and experienced audience, ranging from developers to enterprise architects and up to C-level executives

• Experience as a Sales Engineer or Technical Account Manager

• Experience operating within and across cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, sales, marketing, etc

What Gives You an Edge:

• Knowledge of Apache Kafka and other streaming technologies

• Experience as a Sales/Systems Engineer in a cloud environment or equivalent experience in a customer or partner-facing role.

• A challenger mindset and an ability to positively influence peoples’ opinions

• Experience designing and building big data, stream processing, and other distributed systems for Fortune 1000 companies

• Hands-on proficiency in programming languages commonly used for data processing and analytics, such as Python, SQL, and JavaScript.

• A solid understanding of AI concepts and techniques for working with large language models, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).

• Experience working with global teams

At Confluent, we are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including work history, education, professional experience, and location. This position has an annual estimated salary of $159,300 - $187,200, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package.
