A-State participates in E-Verify.\ \ Position Summary:\ \ The Department of Physical Therapy at Arkansas State University (A-State) invites applications for the position of Department Chair. The Department offers both the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) and Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree programs. This is a full-time, 12-month position that reports directly to the Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Professions.\ \ The Chair of Physical Therapy provides academic and administrative leadership to a dynamic department of 9 other full-time faculty members, one administrative staff member, and approximately 125 total students enrolled in the DPT and PTA programs. Responsibilities include administration of the Department, teaching in area(s) of expertise, maintaining an active research agenda, and overseeing the quality, growth, and continued accreditation of the DPT and PTA Programs.\ \ Duties & Responsibilities:\ \

  • Teaching in area of expertise, research, academic administration, and supervision of faculty, and representing the department at the college, university, and community levels.
  • The chair will work directly with the DPT and PTA program directors to facilitate the growth, development, and continued accreditation of both the DPT and PTA programs.
