Job is 2nd shift M-Th 2:45pm - 1:15AM

Purpose: To check the quality of products manufactured at and for Tech International, competitors' products and the raw materials used in manufacturing processes.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Perform solids test on the dip tank. Adjust based upon the test results.

Test and check the quality of all materials and products manufactured at the plant including rubber and various compounds. Monitor and adjust, as needed, the running parameters for rope rubber through the extruder gun for both Tech and customer-supplied products.

Test incoming natural rubber used in manufacturing products.

Complete non-conforming tags for material. Document issues and take those results to the Chemist/Compounder, Quality Control Manager or Vice President of Technology.

Complete special projects as assigned, such as testing of new products or improving existing products.

Test returned rope rubber or other rubber product that was made, and can be tested, in the Mixing Department laboratory. This includes the return of customer supplied products.

Test compounded rubber products, which can be tested in the Mixing Department laboratory, from other plants.

Run various lab machines.

Clean and calibrate lab machines, per ISO requirements.

Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.

Is consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrives at meetings and appointments on time.

Supervision:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:

High school graduation or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Some specialized training or post high school education preferred. Working knowledge of computer required. Prior work experience of at least one year required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups or customers or employees of an organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. May require good knowledge of shop math.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
