ENGINEERING TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER

Key Responsibilities:

• This candidate is expected to provide technical engineering project manager and will manage government initiatives in research and development and possess the knowledge necessary to collaborate with technology experts and lead the project team programmatically and technically. • Candidate must have project management experience and be proficient at developing project scopes, work breakdown structures, technical solutions, task execution plans, statements of work, resource allocation plans, baseline budgets and schedules. 
• Candidate will be responsible for preparing reports, presentations, leading project meetings, and preparing and presenting project updates for project reviews.
• Candidate will be required to work closely with stakeholders, clients, and project teams, interact with vendors, subcontractors, and ensure all project requirements are being monitored and met in accordance with cost and schedule baselines and technology transitions are properly planned and executed. 
• Candidate will embrace performance-based marketing / business growth and proposal development (technical task planning, resource allocation, scheduling, and cost estimating, and technical writing). 
• Candidate may support a broad base of applied research and development projects with applications ranging from ground vehicles, aircraft, watercraft, munitions, application of advanced materials, advanced joining, custom product and manufacturing process development, equipment development, tooling and fixturing development testing services, systems integration, and other unique one-off solutions. 

• Must be able to develop cradle to grave welding projects/solutions for various DoD and commercial customers 

   

*Basic Qualifications: *

• Candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering with 4-6 years experience in Project or Process Management of projects OR a Master's of Science Degree in Engineering with 2-4 years experience in Project or Process Management of projects OR a PhD in Engineering with 0-2 years experience in Project or Process Management of projects. 
• 3+ years of Friction Stir Welding experience with deep technical understanding of the process influences 
• Work well in a team environment. 
• Strong technical background and problem-solving skills associated with Solid State Friction Stir Welding. 

• Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills. 

   

*Preferred Qualifications: *

• The position requires a high degree of technical competence regarding the broad application of engineering principles to the development of new capabilities and/or solutions to customers' challenging problems, while working with an experienced engineering team. 
• Project Management Certification is desired, but not required with significant experience.
