Join the Delta Dental of Iowa team as anOperations Business Analyst. We are seeking a dynamic individual to plan, develop, and manage business systems and processes for Operations in an efficient manner. You will drive and and document business requirement discussions, ensuring operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include requirements gathering, data analysis, testing, and implementation for end-to-end operations experience including group and product setup, claims processing, telecom, web applications, and other projects. You will determine and track project requirements while communicating and collaborating with stakeholders, facilitators, and team members to drive projects from start to finish while delivering exceptional operations experiences.

Essential Functions and Principal Accountabilities:

  • Lead and drive Operations projects.

  • Coordinate with stakeholders, business/system owners, and end users to define business requirements to meet strategic, financial, and operational goals.

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of operational deliverables, and effectively develop project task list and requirements to facilitate information system and operational process development.

  • Effectively communicate project progress, decisions, and issues.

  • Participate in and drive the creation, documentation, and execution of test plans, cases, and scenarios to validate appropriate business requirements and objectives are met. Perform extensive testing and quality assurance for existing and newly developed systems and applications.

  • Analyze data to derive business insights and identify potential issues, drive communication and resolution.

  • Assist with oversight and design of efficient business processes and quality assurance, and assist with implementing process improvements in processes, procedures, or training to improve quality.

  • Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary.

  • Use best practice project management approach to direct and manage multiple projects from initial planning through project completion.

  • Support business activities using critical thinking and data analysis.

  • Show an eagerness and willingness to learn new technologies and skills.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, information systems, related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience in requirements gathering and development and project management.

  • Ability to build relationships and influence people across organizational and functional lines.

  • Results driven and demonstrated accountability for project delivery.

  • Ability to achieve business objectives for multiple complex projects or priorities.

  • Proven understanding of operational and system environments.

  • Willingness to learn various project management, requirement analysis, and process improvement methodologies.

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, and ability to learn workflow software and relational databases

  • Experience creating, maintaining, and executing test plans, scenarios, and cases.

  • Previous insurance industry experience preferred, but not required.
