Job Definition

The Sr. Software developer is a member of the Canadian Document Processing team, reporting to our Manager, Data Processing.  In this position you will be a key member responsible for maintenance and implementation of our Customer Communication Management solutions.   

This specific role requires a technically capable, self-motivated individual with a solid understanding of the software development and project delivery lifecycles. In addition to solid analytical and technical expertise, time management and good communication will be a key element to success in the role as you work daily with internal operations and project teams.  You will be required to lead, develop and support key production software modules as we integrate them into the Doxim software stack.  As part of our automation program, the incumbent will design and implement new software modules to reduce or eliminate manual work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the onboarding of new customers to the Doxim Operations platform in liaison with a Doxim business development rep

  • Designing and developing new tax processing and print optimization workflows.

  • Developing new enhancements to the existing tax processing and print optimization workflows.

  • Preparing development estimates for Doxim Sales

  • Supervising graphic art creation and prep for production.

  • Assisting with customer test cycles

  • Coordinating customer communication during year end processing

  • Act as 2nd level support for wealth management inquiries directed to Doxim Support Team. 

  • Preparing billing reports for Doxim Finance

  • Maintaining methods and procedures library

  • Approving changes to the production operation

  • Promoting best practices in operations

  • Ability to communicate technical requirements effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate findings to the team

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities while meeting specific deadlines

  • Strong communication skills (written/verbal English)

    Education & Technical Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent, and work experience in an operations environment.

  • Experience working with customers in service delivery or consulting engagements

  • Experience working with Linux-based operating systems.

  • Experience with the Delphi programming language and development environment.

  • Experience generating PostScript and PDF documents with programming tools, and advanced experience working with the PostScript language.

  • Experience with tax forms generation, tax processing rules, and tax filing procedures is an asset.  

  • Experience working in the financial industry is an asset

    Working Conditions

  • Occasional overtime/weekend work required, with a peak in support work January through March.

  • Working schedule must allow for a minimum of one hour overlap time with our Canadian operation in Vancouver (5pm to 6pm SAST)

  • Ability to work in a high pressure, deadline-oriented environment.

  • This role will require the Snr Software Developer to work flexible hours to support North American time zones
