WSP USA Transportation Management Center Manager in Jersey City, New Jersey

This Opportunity

WSP is initiating a search for a TMC Manager. The Contractor shall provide one (1) on-site TMC Manager who will be responsible for being the main point of contact for the PA-TMC and coordinate with Traffic Engineering staff on transportation management strategy and the overall vision and operation of the PA-TMC.

Your Impact

  • Responsibilities of the TMC Manager may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Reporting to PA Traffic Engineering’s Senior Principal for Traffic Management, and, at times, directly to the Chief Traffic Engineering and Chief Engineer.

  • Responsibility for the overall supervision and directing operations at the PA-TMC.

  • Coordinating directly with the PANYNJ Office of Emergency Management (OEM) for planned and unplanned events and use of shared space during the activation of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC)

  • .Using senior-level technical expertise for traffic mitigation planning.

  • Development of traffic mitigation playbooks and emergency response plans

  • Participating in the development of Transportation Management Plans for capital projects.

  • Responsibility for regional oversight and communication with all PA facilities, including Traffic Management staff at Airport Operations Centers (AOCs) and the Port Newark Operations Control Center.

  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring the PA-TMC and AOC staff.

  • Coordinating and communicating with reginal agencies including NJTA, NJDOT, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, MTA,

  • NY Transit, and Transcom in real-time in the event of an incident or emergency.

  • Coordinating with the above agencies on planned events and regional capital program planning. Reporting to the PA-TMC in Jersey City, NJ a minimum of 3 days a week.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with twelve (12) years of experience managing transportation operations,

  • Five (5) years of management experience at an agency transportation management center demonstrating inter- and intra-agency communication and collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with other engineers, professionals, and infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, local, and privately funded improvement and development projects.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

  • Professional demeanor and the ability to interact with stakeholders both in person and over the phone to communicate on behalf of the Port Authority.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

  • Familiarity with the NYC regional transportation network and regional transportation agency relationships.

  • Familiarity with NYC regional transportation network

  • Demonstration of regional transportation problem solving

  • Critical thinking

  • Analytical skills

Expected Salary: $130,300 - $226,100

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
