Kuehne+Nagel Area Sea Logistics - Exports Development Manager in Jersey City, New Jersey

Are you thinking about advancing your career with one of the most successful logistics organizations worldwide? Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our northeast sea logistics team is looking for a new Area Sea Logistics - Exports Development Manager to join our Sea Logistics team.

Your Role

In this high profile and customer-facing Sea Logistics position, the individual will be responsible for developing the export sea logistics product for the region. The role will require a highly motivated individual to analyze data sources in order to identify opportunities to develop and retain business in line with the company’s strategic growth targets. The overall goal is product growth. The individual will be expected to work closely with the area line management teams, BU sales / sales mgmt., National Key Account mgmt. and Specialty Product Leaders to facilitate growth / retention opportunities while acting as the bridge with the Trade, National Pricing and Implementation teams to ensure clear understanding on scope, pricing levels and business onboarding requirements.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial leadership &direction to the local area teams asit pertains to the Sea Export product

  • Drive volume growth on sea exports forthe region while maintaining trade profitability

  • Yield Maximization – maximize GP throughcarrier choices and negotiating with internal/external stakeholders

  • Coordinate on pricing strategies for BUSales and National Key Account opportunities in tandem with Trade Management, NationalPricing and Export Specialty Product Leaders (Reefer, LCL, etc.)

  • Pro-actively participate in customervisits / meetings in conjunction with local/area personnel

  • Manage Customer retention & focus onprospecting for new Business

  • Stay up-to-date with Market Knowledge& provide continuous updates to the Team

  • Business Development & Strategysetting to increase Market share

  • Supporting Sales in turning opportunitiesinto Business Partners

  • Close cooperation with Branch & Areamanagement for an enhanced customer experience

  • Enhance customer satisfaction through thehighest level of service quality achievable

  • Actively seek regular community-basedactivities for team participation

  • Establish and maintain a positiveemployee experience

Your Skills and Experiences

  • 5+ years of sales and new business development experience.

  • 5+ years of freight forwarding industry experience in particular with Sea Logistics.

  • Demonstrated skills in planning, critical thinking, information gathering/analysis, prioritization, time management, and complaint resolution.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to actively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
