Payroll and Benefits Specialist
Description
The Payroll and Benefits Specialist is responsible for participating in activities related to accurate and timely payroll processing, benefits administration, and HRIS utilization. Provides information to employees and managers on payroll and benefit matters. This individual will be the lead Paycom representative for payroll, benefits, and HRIS administration. Assists with other Human Resource functions including applicant tracking, recruitment, on-boarding, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Payroll
- Oversees and manages the complete payroll process including processing wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
- Ensures all payroll transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner, including new hires, terminations, and changes to employee information.
- Downloads payroll reports needed for funding requirements, posts to the GL. Collaborates with the finance department to reconcile payroll and benefits data related to bank accounts, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate reporting.
- Reviews accuracy of YE tax documents.
- Participates in payroll audits.
Benefits
- Coordinates the annual open enrollment.
- Processes employee on-line benefit enrollments, changes, terminations.
- Processes monthly vendor invoices, reconciles invoices and accounts; works with vendors to resolve discrepancies.
- Administers online COBRA enrollments/changes in a timely manner.
- Ensures timely deposit of 401k contributions.
Additional Duties:
- On-boards new employees.
- Assists with other HR functions such as employee recognition, applicant tracking, compliance reporting, etc.
- Assists with budget preparation.
- Responsible for Bank Secrecy Act compliance where applicable in reference to this position.
- All other duties or special projects as assigned by the Human Resources Officer.
