Summary This a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Position. This National Guard position is for a Permanent GS-0344-07 MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1584P01 and is part of the MO Directorate of Manpower and Personnel. This is a bargaining unit position. Responsibilities Operates a Records Holding Area. Advises units and activities on the policies and procedures for records retirement and disposal. Receives and reviews incoming records to be placed in the Records Holding Area and ensures information is properly filed and updated. Processes records for storage and establishes catalogs of records for retrieval purposes. Calculates and specifies the disposal dates according to pertinent regulations. Assigns accession numbers and shelves records in systematic order for recall of particular stored files. Identifies and destroys or arranges for final disposition of stored records in accordance with applicable regulations. Documents the transfer of records, and permit immediate retrieval of records upon request. Plans, organizes and assigns work to employees engaged in training and readiness at the command level. Performs extensive research in response to requests for information, files, or documents which includes researching automated files and indexes as well as manual records. Provides information, records, and documents to the requestor within the provisions of the Privacy Act, Freedom of Information Act. Maintains appropriate administrative records reflecting the history of each charge out from the Records Holding Area, indicating dates of receipt, requestor, documents released, and other pertinent information. Provides technical assistance to staff elements and activities with regard to establishment and operation of records systems. Conducts training workshops for activities with respect to records creation, records maintenance/use, and disposition. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. Selected candidate must be MOS qualified within 12 months from date of appointment. Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion). Maximum Military Grade - SSG (E-6) Minimum Military Grade - SPC (E-4) Enlisted - CMF 25 OR 42 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess administrative or clerical experience such as applying guidelines, rules and regulations to assignments, composing correspondence, searching for and compiling information and data, and records administration. GS-07 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 12 months of specialized experience performing a variety of duties such as records maintenance, inventory, registering, cataloging, analyzing, and gathering data. The specialized experience must also demonstrate your ability to input data using basic computer skills; prepare accurate records and reports using knowledge of records management; communicate both orally and in writing to provide training as well as conduct workshops, and collect, organize, and interpret information including statistical material. Education This job does not have a qualification requirement that allows substitution of education for specialized experience. Additional Information This is an open continuous announcement.
