Scholastic Financial Analysis Manager in Jefferson City, Missouri

Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee day-to-day management of the Finance area of the Customer Service and Operations areas, including Month-End Closing, Financial Statement Review/Analysis, Budgeting/Forecasting/Financial/Operation Reporting, and new process and report development.

  • Partner with key business stakeholders and business user teams.

  • Compile and review financial information to prepare and execute entries to general ledger accounts.

  • Act as the financial liaison between the NSO and NY Finance groups.

  • Ensure compliance with the company’s accounting policies/procedures (including SOX).

  • Monitor actual expenses and report material trends and variance. Assist in developing, recommending, and implementing corrective action when appropriate.

  • Create ad hoc reports that provide cost information to management not supplied by the general accounting system as required.

  • Assist in developing, recommending, and implementing corrective action when appropriate.

  • Review business practices and processes, creating partnerships with both business client and program management peers to drive alignment of business strategy, business processes, and supporting solutions.

  • Lead project improvement initiatives as required.

  • Must be able to independently communicate with the user community, using advanced verbal and written communications skills including facilitation leadership and presentation development.

  • Document system processes, reports, and system functionality.

  • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance/Accounting/Business required.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Finance or Accounting required.

  • Previous knowledge/experience with general cost accounting and financial reporting required.

  • Excellent analytical skills required.

  • Experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment is a plus.

  • Project Management experience preferred.

  • Analytical/organizational skills with sound problem resolution, negotiation, judgment, and decision-making skills required.

  • Experience with Oracle Fusion/SmartView preferred.

  • Strong technical skills with experience using Microsoft Excel and database management software required.

  • Ability to excel in business situations by adapting plans and approaches as required.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships across groups and all management levels required.
