The Cigna Group Behavioral Clinical Account Manager - Mountain States & Midwest- Cigna Healthcare- Remote in Jefferson City, Missouri

Position must be located in one of the following areas: Denver, Chicago, St. Louis or Kansas City.

The Behavioral Clinical Account Manager is an externally facing market representative for Cigna's Behavioral Health products, services and solutions. The Behavioral Clinical Account Manager acts as a behavioral health consultant, both internally and externally, to promote improvement in behavioral health and well-being in employee populations, leveraging Cigna's products and solutions, as well as local community resources.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s Degree or higher, in a Behavioral Health field, and an independent license to practice in the state of residence. (Example, LCSW-C, LMFT, LCPC, etc.) Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing in a behavioral health setting, which can include, but is not limited to outpatient mental health, treatment of substance use disorder, inpatient mental health, intensive outpatient, etc. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a behavioral managed care organization, including utilization management and case management. Prior strategic management or leadership history strongly preferred.

Additional Role Requirements:

Must obtain a Health Producer’s License in the state of residence, within 180 days of start date

Candidates should meet the above requirement, as well as demonstrate superior written and verbal communication skills. Ideal candidates will be effective at building relationships with others, engaging in a consultative fashion, and be an effective and accomplished public speaker.

Role Responsibilities include:

Work with assigned markets to support growth and retention of The Behavioral Product book of business. Help sales promote new products and capabilities as they come to market.

Provide Behavioral Health consultation and education to internal matrix partners, clients and brokers.

  • Act in a consultative manner to employer groups, related to building behavioral wellness strategies and behavioral health improvement plans, as well as promote the value of integration between behavioral, medical, and pharmacy programs.

  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise in Cigna's suite of behavioral products, in particular Total Behavioral Health & other premier solutions, and assist market sales teams with obtaining and retaining business as it relates to behavioral health challenges.

Will be the central point of intake for escalated behavioral customer issues, providing guidance and education both internally and externally to move escalated matters to resolution.

  • Candidates will engage with internal matrix partners including Clinical Consultants, Behavioral Product, Go-To-Market, Operations, only as needed, to effectively resolve escalated matters.

  • Candidates will be able to quantify and describe market behavioral trends and needs and communicate to leadership in an effective an organized fashion.

  • Candidates will play the primary role in escalated issue resolution, and will be able to educate others on the clinical utilization review process, denial and appeals process, and network development and management issues.

Attend market events, including: forums, summits, consortiums, client and broker dinners, holiday events, etc.

  • Present at market events and meetings, including Summits, Forums, Consortiums, Wellness Committee meetings, etc. Candidates will assist with development and deliver content and materials working with Product, Legal, Marketing and Communication.

Attend Benefit Insight (THI/CAP) review meetings and act in a consultative manner and make client specific recommendations.

Candidate will participate as an active member of the market Wellness Committee, and contribute, as needed.

Candidate will identify key industry clients and develop and maintain close working relationships in order to build a list of references for Cigna's behavioral products and services.

Site Visit planning and coordination:

  • Medical Site Visits – participate in planning and execution of medical site visits, in conjunction with medical clinical team partners. This will include presenting on behavioral services and solutions.

  • Behavioral Site Visits –

  • Coordinate, Plan and Execute Behavioral Site Visits.

Innovation

  • Based on client and market need, innovate in an organized and measurable manner that is able to be replicated. This should be done in conjunction with manager and leadership and based on market strategy and goals.

Cross cover for peers, as needed, acting as a collaborative and supportive team member.

Clinical Development –

  • Maintain Clinical Licensure and Certification.

Work as a collaborative partner on a multi-disciplinary market facing clinical team, which includes: Market Medical Executives, Nurses, Behaviorists, Pharmacy, etc.

  • Serve on a market clinical committees, and work on special projects, as needed.

Attend participate and provide updates and trainings in market meetings. Act as the primary source of updates and information for behavioral health within the market.

Provide Employee Assistance Program account support, including support at finalist meetings, and strategy implementation.

  • Participate strategically in health fairs, benefit events, etc. as appropriate.

Complete other duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements: 50-70%

Performance will be measured based on meeting the above duties, as well as:

  • Market Growth and Persistency

  • Growth and Penetration of Behavioral Products, including Employee Assistance, Total Behavioral Health, Enhanced Behavioral and Fee for Service Behavioral

  • Objective (Survey Evaluation) and Subjective feedback from market matrix partners and leadership

  • Successful resolution of behavioral health inquiries and escalations

  • Observation from leadership

  • Ownership of behavioral market (internal) events, like training, market meetings, overall strategy etc.

  • Completed Engagements:

  • Survey feedback from workplace well-being engagements and other presentations

  • Broker Education Presentations (Survey Formal & Informal Feedback)

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 81,900 - 136,500 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
