Jay Peak Resort Activities/Reservations Trainer in Jay, Vermont

SUMMARY
The Activities/Reservations Trainer trains and assists incoming staff on how to properly use software programs to include Maestro, Inntopia and Siriusware as well as the phone system. This position will also train others on resort offerings, locations and Lodging types and bring current staff up to speed on Activities Agent responsibilities. The Activities/Reservations Trainer acts as a Activities/Reservations Agent while not training
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
Provides guests with reservations of lodging space and rate information.
Provides guests with Activities information and creates bookings for them.
Trains new staff on phones, Property Management System, policies, e-mail, lodging details and protocol.
Trains new staff and current staff on Activities software and policies.
Maintains agent information booklets and assists in distribution of new policies and information.
Runs end-of-shift reports for cash-up transactions.
Communicates with supervisor/manager any issues or needs that occur during their shift.
Answers phones and e-mail as needed.
Works with GDS (Tuango, GroupOn, Expedia, Booking.com) providers to keep updated and accurate information.
Assists in additional projects and reporting as needed by supervisor or manager.
Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related, or unrelated to original position.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certification from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products. Experience with Maestro, Inntopia and Siriusware software is required (on-the-job training available).
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
Must have the ability to retain information so that it may be properly relayed to guests/customers in a professional and accurate manner. Professional customer service/communication/sales skills and telephone etiquette are required.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Must be willing to adapt to constant changes in a fast-paced environment.

RESORT CONDITIONS
This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multilevel buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
