Job Highlights:

  • Work only Day Shift Mondays - Fridays (no weekends or evenings).

  • Sign on Bonus of $5,000.00 for qualified external candidates ( 2 year Commitment with SSSM Health).

  • Clinics are closed for 6 observed holidays (Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving Day).

  • Clinic shifts are scheduled between the hours of 7:30am-5:30pm (exact schedule can be discussed upon hire).

  • 80% patient care/ 20% dictation time is built into your weekly schedule.

  • Hourly positions (not salaried).

  • Eligible for Travel time plus Mileage reimbursement when working at sites other than your home site.

  • Eligible for participation in SSM Health's Clinical Ladder Program.

  • Eligible for our Department's Continuing Education Benefit (currently have $750 annually to spend on CE which includes registration and travel expenses, then increases to $1,000 annually).

  • OTs specifically have the opportunity to work towards a Clinical Specialist promotion if they meet the eligibility requirements (same salary compensation grade as an OT, Hand specialist, so this would not apply to the OT, Hand Specialist position).

Job Summary:

Evaluates and treats patients with physical, emotional, cognitive and/or psychosocial deficits.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assesses patient 's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills. Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.

  • Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities. Documents findings of patient progress. Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed. Seeks consultation as necessary.

  • Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.

  • Oversees the care provided by designated individuals according to established regulations and practice standards.

  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy, or related area as required to obtain licensure in state of practice

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Constant standing.

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.

  • Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

  • Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).

  • Frequent walking, reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry.

  • Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, sitting, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.

  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.

  • Occasional lifting/moving patients.

  • Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships and to identify and distinguish colors.

  • Occasional driving.

  • Rare crawling.

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

Resuscitation Certification Requirement: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) required within 90 day of employment. Other resuscitation certifications may be required dependent on department.
