Aston Carter Cost Accountant in Janesville, Wisconsin

Description:

  • MRP Implementation and Integration:

  • Lead the implementation of MRP systems, collaborating closely with IT, operations, and finance teams.

  • Customize MRP modules to align with specific manufacturing processes and business needs.

  • Ensure seamless integration of MRP with existing ERP and financial systems.

  • Cost Accounting Management:

  • Develop and maintain standard cost models for materials, labor, and overhead.

  • Analyze manufacturing variances and provide insights to improve cost efficiencies.

  • Implement cost accounting methodologies to accurately capture production costs.

  • Process Optimization:

  • Streamline manufacturing processes through MRP utilization, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.

  • Conduct regular reviews of MRP data integrity and resolve discrepancies promptly.

  • Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare financial reports related to manufacturing costs, variances, and performance metrics.

  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on cost analysis to support strategic decision-making.

  • Training and Support:

  • Train end-users on MRP functionality and provide ongoing support to ensure effective system utilization.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on MRP-related inquiries and issues.

  • Compliance and Audit:

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations in relation to manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.

  • Support audits related to manufacturing operations and cost accounting practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification welcomed

  • Proven experience (3-5+ years) in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated expertise in implementing and managing MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.

  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and process improvement.
