Position: Assistant Manager - PDC

Reporting To: Manager PDC

Location: SMI – Jamnagar (Gujarat)

Position Summary:

The incumbent will be responsible to run PDC department in efficient manner to achive the production target, ensure that quality standard is maintain consistently and reduce the rejection.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the team of Production department.

  • Oversee the production process and prepare the production plan as per customer requirement.

  • To decide & arrange the resources to achieved the production as per plan.

  • Responsible for the selection and maintenance of PDC equipment.

  • Establish the Standard Operating Procedure for all the dies.

  • Coordination among different departments for smooth production.

  • Focused within the timing cycles and ensure that all functions happen appropriately.

  • Monitoring all the process activities.

  • Route cause analysis and action plan for any type of failure (Production, quality and maintenance).

  • Involved with purchase team to develop the Vendor for the spare parts or consumable items.

  • Manpower recruitment planning for optimum Machines utilization.

  • Handle the clean up and set up of the machines used in the work PDC process, ensure not only that the proper number of pieces are produced but also ensure that the line and the machines are ready for future use as well.

  • Maintain the Production line balance.

  • To check & move the produced material for the next process or Store department.

  • To ensure the production is cost effective and productivity.

  • Responsible for New product trial & run.

  • Responsible for OTD, MTPT and Inventory controlling,

  • Devising and implementing new technologies and procedures to enable smooth functioning of operations.

  • Making Daily Production cum Performance Report, OEE report, Calculate average SHOT & KG on daily and monthly basis.

  • Responsible for MIS report.

  • Need to involved in quality control and ensure that the pieces / product are free of any flaws or defects.

  • Achieving productivity improvement and eliminating non–value added operation by focusing on SMED, POKA-YOKE and KAIZEN

  • Responsible for the production confirmation in SAP system

  • Identity the training needs and provide to team.

  • Creative housekeeping through “5s” in shop floor.

  • Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed. Motivate the team.

  • All workers should wear the required safety gear while in the premises. The equipment must also be kept clean and maintained.

    Skills Required:

  • Good knowledge of production planning & implementation the plan.

  • Good knowledge of die casting Tools & process.

  • Sound knowledge of PDC machine maintenance.

  • Good knowledge of SAP PP modules.

  • Good communication and working knowledge on computer.

  • Good working behaviour with other department to achieve the target.

  • Skill to identify the problems, make & implement the preventive action for them.

    Educational Qualification and Experience:

  • BE/B.Tech in Mechanical engineering/Production engineering/Operation management.

  • Must have 7+ years experience in the pressure die casting (zinc) manufacturing process.
