Responsibilities:

• Lead orientation and training sessions for new hires, students, and other medical personnel, ensuring that all competencies are completed within required timeframes and providing remediation for sonographers when necessary.

• Perform ultrasound diagnostic examinations according to Level I and Level II Advanced sonographer standards, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care.

• Assist in talent acquisition by conducting interviews for sonographer candidates and providing valuable feedback for their annual performance reviews.

• Oversee the high-level disinfection of devices, supplies, and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards.

• Coordinate daily workflow and scheduling within the department, adjusting staffing levels based on factors such as call-offs, vacations, patient volumes, and training requirements.

• Support quality assurance initiatives and collaborate in developing exam protocols alongside advanced sonographers, effectively communicating results to departmental leadership.

• Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the supervisor, ensuring continuity of operations and team support.

• Foster a collaborative and educational environment within the department, promoting professional growth and maintaining high standards of care.

Required:

• Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)

• 3 years of ultrasound experience

• Performance review consistent with minimum of strong/Solid performance on last performance review

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

RDMS Registered required.CPR or BLS Preferred.CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
