The examination processing fee may be paid either by sending a check or money order payable to the Director of Finance (please write the examination number and title on your check/money order), paying in-person with a valid credit card, or payment by phone (must have application in office) APPLICATION FORM: Your application for this test is part of the examination process. VACANCIES: At present two (2) vacancies exist in the Jamestown Public School District. Results from promotional examination #70004690 also being held for this title will be used first for appointments. DUTIES: A Head Custodian is an important supervisory position involving responsibility for the efficient and economical cleaning, heating and facilitation of use of school buildings and related facilities. The work is performed under the general direction of a superior allowing wide leeway for the exercise of independent judgment in keeping buildings and facilities up to approved standards of cleanliness and operation. Immediate supervision is exercised over the work of cleaning and utility personnel. Does related work as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and four (4) years of experience in building mechanical maintenance, grounds maintenance or building cleaning maintenance using mechanical floor cleaners, one (1) year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity. EDUCATION/AGE REQUIREMENT: Candidates who will meet education/age requirements within 12 months of the exam date, will be permitted to take the examination but will not be eligible for canvassing or permanent appointment until proof of fulfilling the education/age requirements have been furnished to this office.
