Amergis Healthcare Staffing isseeking a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse to assume responsibility andaccountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery ofpatient care. The nurse demonstrates ability to make clinical judgments in aneffective and efficient manner with supervision. The nurse demonstratescritical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care.Consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountable inmanaging patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care.

Duration: 13 to start, but strong chance of extension

Openings:
2 Part-time (32 hours) day
1 Part-time (32 hours) evening
1 Full-time night
1 Full-Time evening
(weekend availability required for all openings)
Start Date: December 2nd
Pay Rate:
Days - $73/hr local, $3,115/week(32 hrs) travel
Eves - $75/hr local, $3,251/week(32 hrs) & $4,007/week (40 hrs) travel
Nights - $77/hr local, $4,187/week(40 hrs) travel
Dutiesand Responsibilities (these are a general summary and not all inclusive):
· Initiates physical, psychosocial,and spiritual assessment of patients nursing care needs according to admissionprocedure and as specified per unit policy.
· Develops a Plan of Care withpatient, patient's significant others, multidisciplinary health care team, andother resources which supports the analysis of data collected and that reflects(a) formulated nursing diagnosis/identified patient needs/problems andstandards of care (b) specific nursing intervention based on nursing diagnosis(c) patient/ significant other strengths (d) discharge needs ofpatient/significant others and (e) outcome measures with time frames forachievement.
· Implements and documents nursinginterventions as per plan of care and in accordance with nursing theory,LSH/Nursing Department/Unit policies and procedures, Joint Commission, DPH, andfederal and state laws to insure safe and effective standards of nursingpractice; transcribes accurately physician orders formedications/tests/interventions; administers and documents prescribedmedications; monitors and documents response to medication and any adverse ortoxic effects and follow-up action taken; communicates findings and results ofmonitoring to health care team.
· Provides ongoing assessment andevaluation of patient status at specified times as per unit policy and todetermine effectiveness of interventions, patient's response to treatment/patient outcomes and/or when significant change occurs in patient conditionand/or patient diagnosis and communicates changes in plan topatient/significant others and health care team.
· Documents nursing care processand outcomes/situational occurrences in accordance with LSH/NursingDepartment/Unit Policies/Procedures.
· Assesses, identifies, andprovides for education and training of patient/ patient's significant others toimprove patient's health outcomes by assisting the patient/patient'ssignificant others in gaining the knowledge and skills that facilitate understandingof health status, return to function, healthy behaviors, and that meets theongoing health care needs of the patient.
· Provides consistent leadership inorganizing the delivery of care according to departmental standards byperforming charge duties as delegated by nurse manager and assigns/supervisescare delivered by LPN's and NA's according to departmentstandards/policies/procedures.
· Participates and contributes todepartmental and hospital wide performance improvement activities/ riskmanagement by assisting in data collection and analysis, identifyingopportunities for evaluation and improvement in care or services, and byinvolvement in and assessment of findings and actions taken to improve care.
· Maintains commitment andresponsibility for professional growth and competency through ongoingactivities that promote professional growth and development by completing allmandatory review classes; acquiring, maintaining and updating knowledge andskills required to perform processes involved in delivery of care specific toclinical unit and field; participating in performance appraisal process of selfand peers, and through participation in LSH/Nursing Department/ProfessionalNurse Organization (PNO) Committees, continuing education programs, andprofessional organizations.
· Contributes to effectiveinterpersonal and community relations to ensure the quality of patient care, topromote a therapeutic milieu by functioning as advocate/resource person tostaff/patients/families/visitors/other departments and outside agencies regardingrequested information and LSH Policies/ Procedures by investigatingcomplaints/clarifying LSH Policies/procedures and maintaining patientprivacy/confidentiality at all times.
· Contributes to the safety/riskmanagement/infection control program, productivity, and cost effectiveness ofthe department and hospital by assessing and managing the environment to reducesafety and health hazards and minimize incidents/accidents for patients/employees/visitors;by managing services, supplies, pharmaceutical stock, and equipment to ensureeffective and economical use.
· Demonstrates competence inassessing and providing age appropriate care to all patients.
· Demonstrates competence inassessing and providing care that is cognizant of and sensitive to patients'cultural and spiritual needs.
· Assures continuity of careamongst all caregivers by following both the hospital-wide and nursing Hand OffCommunication policies. · Demonstrates a positive attitude and treatsstaff/patients/families/visitors/other departments and outside agencies withrespect and dignity at all times.
Qualifications:

Telemetry experience
IV experience
