Position Summary

As a Business Analyst/Senior Business Analyst at Huron, you will be analyzing complex business problems to be solved by building next-gen products for our clients and users. You will be responsible for analyzing business requirements, identifying areas for improvement, and providing solutions to help the products team achieve the desired goals. This role involves gathering and documenting business requirements, performing data analysis, and collaborating closely with stakeholders to deliver effective solutions. You will work with the development and testing teams to ensure requirements are fully understood, and that the system performs in the required and performant manner. BAs working with US clients and working in US hours preferred (not mandatory).

Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities

  • Facilitate communications with product stakeholders to understand product requirements and priorities.

  • Elicit business and functional requirements and prepare requirement documentation as it pertains to new products, tools or solutions

  • Recommend efficient models and workflow processes; create process flows to facilitate understanding and agreement with internal and external stakeholders using various notation (use cases, business process diagrams, workflows, swim lanes).

  • Learn about a specific business need rapidly through analysis by using fit/gap analysis, feasibility studies, and business case creation.

  • Create User Story with detailed Acceptance Criteria

  • Work with engineering team to translate business requirements to build, test and deliver products to clients and users

  • Lead the scrum team using Agile methodology and scrum practices.

  • Help the product owner and development team to achieve customer satisfaction.

  • Prioritize requirements with stakeholders.

  • Work side-by-side with appropriate teams to represent the customer, set priorities when conflicts arise, and answer specific requirements questions.

  • Coordinate user acceptance tests, training and communication as needed.

  • Develop detailed expertise in a line of business.

  • Enable change throughout the organization.

  • Assist in the development and execution of best practices, techniques, business architecture governance and tools as needed by the PMO.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business or a related field from an accredited university or institution or equivalent work experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in IT BA activities

  • Experience working with cloud projects.

  • Experience working on multiple project types (i.e. commercial off the shelf, new development, and enhancements/support).

  • Experience working in multiple business areas within an organization.

  • Experience writing unambiguous, verified to a testable level requirement.

  • Competent analytical skills and business acumen; analytical thinking, problem solving and quantitative abilities; detail oriented, committed to a high level of accuracy; track record of managing multiple projects concurrently.

  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and meeting facilitation skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.

  • Proficient knowledge of key concepts and processes within the Software Development Life Cycle including Agile and Waterfall methodologies as well as process and workflow management.

  • Knowledge of technology networks, database, communications, internet, system interfaces, data integration, and operating systems.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to new and changing business and technical environments.

  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Excel & Visio. Basic skills/familiarity with other Microsoft business products (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required.

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) with a wide range of audiences (technical and non-technical).

  • Understanding of the concepts of data and object models along with relationships and hierarchy.

  • Practical experience with Scrum is required.
