Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INDUSTRIAL HYGIENIST of NMRTC JACKSONVILLE FL. Responsibilities You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates. You will set priorities and prepare schedules for the completion of work. You will coordinate concerns regarding common industrial hygiene problems with other supervisory level industrial hygienists. You will assist line management, engineers, safety and medical staffs in efforts to recognize health hazards and provide state of the art technical expertise. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience demonstrating advanced industrial hygiene principles and practices. Experience in occupational health laws, policies, and regulations to include (Federal, Department of Defense, and Navy). Experience using the Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System (DOERHS). Experience in best practices of occupational health management and applicable regulations. Education Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: The education must be accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education(external link) at the time the degree was obtained. Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: A bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health sciences, occupational and environmental health, toxicology, safety sciences, or related science; or A bachelor's degree in a branch of engineering, physical science, or life science that included 12 semester hours in chemistry, including organic chemistry, and 18 additional semester hours of courses in any combination of chemistry, physics, engineering, health physics, environmental health, biostatistics, biology, physiology, toxicology, epidemiology, or industrial hygiene; or Certification from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene(external link) (ABIH).
