The Nurse Manager, Telehealth is responsible for managing and leading a team of Telehealth Registered Nurses, overseeing the provision of telephonic and virtual patient care advice and ensuring optimal service quality and patient satisfaction. The incumbent in this role coordinates with the interdisciplinary care plan team, advocates for patients, ensures effective resource utilization and drives the continuous improvement of the organization's telehealth practices. The Nurse Manager, Telehealth is a fully remote role which requires excellent virtual leadership abilities to ensure the delivery of VIP, patient-centric care.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees the team of Registered Nurses, Telehealth, and PRN RNs, ensuring they provide comprehensive telephonic and virtual triage care, patient advocacy, health education, and resource management.
Monitors and manages telehealth operations, ensuring adherence to established standards and protocols, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Actively engage in direct patient care through telehealth consultations, dedicating up to 20% of work time to this function. This hands-on approach ensures a deep understanding of the patient experience and the workflow of the team
Coordinates with primary caregivers and the interdisciplinary care plan team to promote collaborative, patient-centric care.
Facilitates staff training and development, promotes teamwork, and manages performance to optimize service delivery and team productivity.
Contributes to the continuous improvement of telehealth practices through the successful utilization of telemedicine and achievement of positive patient outcomes.
Collaborates with on-call PCPs and other key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of appropriate care and to attain expected clinical outcomes.
Utilizes resources effectively and efficiently to plan and provide services that are safe, patient-centric, and fiscally responsible.
Reviews and analyzes patient data, health outcomes, and service utilization data to identify trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and guide decision-making.
Manages scheduling flexibility based on the needs of the department, including coverage for PTO, LOA, and other unexpected absences.
Undertakes additional duties as assigned and modified at the manager's discretion.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Advanced-level business acuity
Expert knowledge and understanding of general Registered Nurse job-related functions, practices, processes, procedures, techniques and methods
In-depth understanding of telehealth functions, practices, processes, procedures, and techniques
Excellent leadership, team building and performance management skills
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional clinical judgement, problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize under pressure
Ability to provide excellent customer service, build trust and promote professional relationships
Proficient skill in Microsoft Office Suite products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook; competent in other systems required for the position
Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally and/or nationally to attend meetings and trainings up to 20% of the time; flexible to work after-hours, evenings, weekends and/or holidays if/as needed
Spoken and written fluency in English; bilingual (Spanish/Creole) a plus
This job requires use and exercise of independent judgment
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:
AS degree in Nursing required
BSN required
A valid, active Registered Nurse (RN) license for the State of Florida required; may be expected to acquire additional state licenses at a later date
Nurse Licensure Compact Multistate license (NLC) required
A minimum of 5 years' acute clinical nursing work experience required
A minimum of 1 years’ direct managerial/supervisory experience responsible for overseeing a virtual /remote clinical team required
3 years managerial experience specifically supervising people-leaders strongly preferred
A minimum of 3 years' telehealth work experience preferred
