Job Title: Method Development Scientist

Job Description

As a Method Development Scientist, you will play a crucial role in our R&D projects by executing standard testing procedures and developing new test methods. You will work collaboratively with a team member to prioritize and shift priorities as needed. Your expertise in various testing instruments and adherence to cGMP/GLP guidelines will be essential in ensuring accurate and reliable results.

Responsibilities

  • Execute standard testing procedures for various R&D project samples.

  • Prepare samples according to procedures and run analyses using research and validated methods.

  • Suggest and facilitate method improvements.

  • Contribute to guided method development under the direction of a team member.

  • Provide feedback on potential improvements within the laboratory.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge, understanding, and application of cGMP/GLP guidelines.

  • Complete documentation per good documentation practices in a GxP laboratory notebook and LIMS.

Essential Skills

  • 2 years of experience in a research lab doing test method development.

  • Experience with FTIR, Refractive Index, Mechanical Testing (Instron), Pervaporation, and UV-VIS.

  • Strong experience in chemistry and materials engineering, particularly polymers.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to clearly document observations.

  • Understanding of the requirements associated with working in a regulated environment.

  • Experience documenting via GDPs.

  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment including UV-VIS, FTIR analytical testing, Refractive Index by abbe or multiwavelength refractometer, and tensile testing using Instron frame or similar instrumentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field with participation in undergraduate research programs (academic or industrial).

  • 2+ years of industry experience preferred.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Secondary analytical skills such as wettability assessment using goniometer or tensiometer, and solution measurements (pH, conductivity, osmolality) using commercially available equipment.

  • Must have GDP experience, ideally having used a LIMS system before.

Work Environment

You will be working in the Materials & Process Characterization Analytical Lab, utilizing a variety of advanced laboratory instruments and equipment. The work environment is centered around standard testing procedures, with opportunities to develop new methods over time. The role requires adherence to good documentation practices and maintaining a clean and organized lab space.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00
