Program Summary
The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of this program. For over 35 years we have planned, coordinated, and executed the maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces.
Job Summary
As a Quality Manager, you will manage the Quality Management Support System, ensuring compliance with customer standards, while proactively identifying non - conformances through regular audits and implementing corrective actions to resolve issues. Revise, update, maintain and ensure adherence to KBR local Quality Control Plan. Institute Built-in quality measures to improve efficiency and product delivery.
Roles and Responsibilities
Maintain detailed reports of non-conformances and corrective actions and prepare reports for senior management.
Lead initiatives to improve quality processes and system to enhance quality and customer satisfaction.
Direct the management, integration, and coordination of quality efforts as it relates to a logistics management/maintenance program.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement solutions.
Maintain established Quality Management System ISO 9001:2015.
Oversee the review of written procedures and implementation of any actions needed to ensure designated certification(s) remains active.
Develop and manage the internal audit schedule for program IAW ISO 9001:2015 standards.
Develop and mentor Quality personnel within the department.
Understand and ensure compliance with and improve established company policies and procedures.
Develop the standard of work, policies and procedures, business tools, and business process communications.
Determine Marine Corps Prepositioning Program objectives and implement quality management policies, processes, and procedures to ensure on-going compliance with program objectives.
Develop, evaluate, and implement changes in work operations and processes to improve operating efficiencies.
Monitor, audit, and evaluate all logistics and maintenance operations to prevent defects/errors and to verify adherence to quality plans and requirements.
Analyze and investigate adverse quality trends or conditions and initiate corrective actions.
Formulate, interpret, and ensure on-going compliance with internal quality policies, practices, and procedures.
Lead projects through different phases, manage project resources, monitor project status, generate progress reports, and keep management informed of issues.
Develop and maintain a strong, effective relationship with customers, act as primary interface between customer and daily program operations/administration.
Use problem solving skills in situations where general standardization should exist but may not be operating effectively.
Use process mapping techniques leaning heavily on Six Sigma and Lean to reduce waste and inefficiency.
Maintain Marine Corps Prepositioning Program Quality policies and procedures and ensure on-going compliance with them.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
Must be able to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a Secret Security clearance and maintain it for the duration of your employment on this contract. Due to this, you must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for this position.
Requires a BA/BS degree in a scientific field (i.e., quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management) or engineering discipline or another related field. In lieu of a degree, a combination of college credits, other formalized training or education, and directly related work experience may be considered.
Must have at least 8 years of progressively complex experience with a working knowledge of quality assurance programs, methods, and techniques pertaining to logistics management, including 6 years in a management capacity involving various aspects of cost/schedule controls, performance monitoring, report writing, program planning and customer interface, and 4 years of Supervisory experience.
Must have in-depth understanding of Marine Corps policies, regulations, and orders.
Requires a working knowledge of Marine Corps shipboard equipment/material and associated logistics processes.
Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
Requires strong analytical skills.
Requires a working knowledge and application of quality assurance concepts, principles, and techniques.
Must have in-depth understanding of the services Marine Corps Prepositioning Program provides to the customer and the processes and techniques used to deliver these services.
Requires a working knowledge of personnel management, concepts, principles, and techniques.
Must have the ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
Must be a Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) by ASQ within 1 year of hire.
Experience in Lean / Six Sigma Process Improvement methodologies with resident experience in application in field environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- Lean or Six Sigma Black belt with resident experience in application in field environment.
