Job Description

The Technology Solutions Department is actively seeking a Lean Initiatives Program Manager.

This position reports to PMO Manager and plays a crucial role in driving process improvements and efficiencies. Highly motivated and detail-oriented individual who focuses on bottom-line outputs. Responsible for leading and supporting lean projects, implementing continuous improvement methodologies, and driving savings across the organization to achieve strategic goals and operational excellence.

Examples of Work

  • Leads and facilitates lean initiatives, including value stream mapping, waste reduction, process optimization, and standardization.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities and develop action plans to achieve operational excellence.

  • Conducts training sessions and workshops on lean principles, tools, and techniques for employees at all levels.

  • Monitors and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of lean initiatives and drive continuous improvement efforts.

  • Provides coaching and guidance to project teams to ensure successful implementation of lean methodologies.

  • Acts as a liaison between departments to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing for best practices in lean management.

  • Documents processes, procedures, and outcomes of lean projects for knowledge management and future reference.

  • Stays updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in lean management to drive innovation and efficiency.

  • Drives the implementation of transformational projects by defining project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.

  • Monitors project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular updates to stakeholders on project milestones and outcomes.

  • Conducts root cause analysis and develop actionable recommendations to address process inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement.

  • Acts as a change agent by promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the organization.

  • Documents project processes, best practices, and lessons learned for knowledge management and future reference.

  • Manages relationships with private partners collaborating to assist the City of Jacksonville in driving process improvements and efficiencies.

Open Requirements/Supplemental Information

  • Bachelors' degree from an accredited institution in business, engineering, operations management, or related field.

  • Advanced certification in lean/six sigma or Lean Competency Systems is required.

  • Proven experience in leading lean initiatives and driving process improvement in a government or service environment.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in lean tools and methodologies such as value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen, DMAIC, and root cause analysis.

Experience with Lean Management Systems (LMS) or related software is preferred.
