GE Aerospace Lead Manufacturing Engineer - 2nd Shift in Jacksonville, Florida

Job Description Summary

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will engage in engineering tasks related to the manufacturing process, significantly impacting departmental operations. Your responsibilities will include planning and execution, with a focus on adhering to established functional practices and procedures. While the role offers some autonomy, it primarily involves executing activities within a defined operating discipline, typically exercising judgment with guidance. The Unison facility at the GE Aerospace site in Jacksonville is notable for its dual capabilities, manufacturing electronic component parts and operating a Repair & Overhaul shop for GE Aerospace Engines. Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Define and control production processes, including the selection and maintenance of tooling and equipment.

  • Validate design specifications and ensure their practical application on the shop floor for new products, tools, or equipment.

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of technical disciplines relevant to manufacturing and production.

  • Utilize prior experience and technical expertise to execute company policies and strategies.

  • Understand key business drivers and use this knowledge to achieve work objectives.

  • Integrate the work of your team with other teams to contribute to overall business goals.

  • Exercise judgment to propose innovative solutions within set parameters, with guidance as needed.

  • Solve straightforward tasks using prior experience and on-the-job training.

  • Access and apply technical skills and analytical thinking to resolve problems.

  • Collaborate with multiple internal sources outside of your team to make informed decisions.

  • Provide informal guidance to new team members and contribute to their development.

  • Utilize lean principles to drive continuous improvement and enhance shop floor operator experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 7 years of relevant experience in manufacturing and/or engineering).

  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing and/or engineering experience.
