Actalent Electrical Designer in Jacksonville, Florida

Job Title: Electrical Design EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to develop and design electrical motor control systems in accordance with provided specifications and UL508A guidelines. The ideal candidate will create quotations based on drawings and specifications, support sales by visiting customer sites, and prepare schematics, bill of materials, fabrication, and layout drawings. This role also involves providing direction and support throughout the production process, overseeing final testing, initiating final technical documentation, and offering technical support for customers and the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and design electrical motor control systems per provided specifications and UL508A guidelines.

  • Develop quotations for electrical systems based on drawings and specifications.

  • Support sales by visiting customer sites to discuss system solutions.

  • Prepare schematics, bill of materials, fabrication, and layout drawings.

  • Provide direction and support throughout the production process.

  • Oversee and sign-off on final testing of completed systems.

  • Initiate final technical documentation for completed projects.

  • Provide technical support for customers and the sales team.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in CAD (Autocad, Solidworks, EPlan, etc.).

  • Experience with Eplan P8 & Pro Panel is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Effective organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Well-versed in Microsoft Office.

  • Team player mentality.

  • Competent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Electrical engineering design experience.

  • Experience in drafting and electrical design of control panels.

Work Environment

This position operates in a general office environment with occasional exposure to industrial shop environments. The role involves 70% individual work and 30% teamwork. The candidate must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time and be prepared for occasional field visits. The work environment is relaxed, with opportunities for growth and a supportive manager who values hands-on collaboration when necessary.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $95000.00
