Acosta Group Director, Operational Excellence - Hybrid in St Johns, Florida

DESCRIPTION

The Operational Excellence Department is tasked with optimizing processes and driving efficiency across the organization. As the pace of change accelerates—impacted by data, technology, consumer behaviors, store formats, branding, and industry cost structures—Acosta, the leading food sales agency, must continually enhance and evolve its business model and service offerings. The success of Acosta’s long-term growth objectives and industry leadership hinges on the Operational Excellence Department’s ability to streamline operations, empower staff, and create value for customers.

The Director of Operational Excellence will be responsible for continuous improvement and productivity while ensuring seamless processes, streamlined ways of working, and access to accurate data through tools, reports, KPIs, and dashboards. These efforts deliver value to our clients/customers as well as providing support services to the entire Acosta Sales Agencythrough transformational change that fuels profitable and sustainable growth.

This individual is required to maintain a strong understanding and connectivity to multiple internalpartners involved in our day-to-day business. Additionally, there must exist a spirit and commitment to collaboration as one works across teams to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and processes, directly influencing the future state vision for the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver projects/initiatives based on agreed upon deliverables, timing, and costs.

  • Collaborates, develops, recommends, and implements processes, procedures, and best practices to drive continuous improvement within the operating functions across Sales teams and cross-functional departments.

  • Reviews and oversees the implementation of operational and organizational plans that support strategic plans for the Acosta Group.

  • Participates in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluationof key business performance leading indicators supporting short- and long-term strategic plans and programs.

  • Oversees and adjusts organization’s end-to-end business processes and operations as necessary to ensure efficient and effective execution by Sales teams to reduce complexity and cost.

  • Directly responsible for the successful deliveryof assigned work/projects/initiatives including establishing success criteria, roadmap, implementation, and metric tracking all while attaining feedback from stakeholders/Sales teams.

  • Ability to present complex concepts/ideas in concise, easy-to-understand terms is critical.

  • Ability to execute and manage complex quantitative analysis while striving to minimize errors.

  • Possess strong executive preference and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.

  • Possess and demonstrate excellent analytical skills to provide data-led insights to be utilized to improve business results by Sales teams.

  • Develop, supervise, monitor, and evaluate direct reports. Createdevelopmental plans for all direct reports to include implementation of Acosta’s Performance Agreement System.

  • Responsible for special projects as requested and other duties asassigned.

  • Possess and demonstrate leadership qualities consistent with Acosta Group’s culture.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor or Graduate Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience and a proven track record in a leadership capacity. CPG industry knowledge and experience preferred.

  • 5+ years of supervisory/management experience preferred.

  • Prior experience must demonstrate the ability to successfully manage, influence, and/or direct others.

  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency using MS Office, MS Outlook, Web Browsers, PowerBI, MS Access/SQL Server databases, andfamiliarity with Artificial Intelligence and Salesforce.

  • Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, presentation, and leadership skills.

  • Effectively communicates and influences (internally as well as externally to clients/customers), especially across non-direct reporting lines.

  • Demonstrates high level of analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Able to prioritize and simultaneously manage several projects/initiatives (small and large in scope) and potentially oversee a program.

  • Strong ability to collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams.

  • Divergent thinker – displays a growth mindset.
