SUMMARY: Responsible for providing legal advice and counsel to a variety of corporate functions and business units. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: * Review, draft and negotiate various types of contracts, including customer, vendor, and non-disclosure agreements. * Serve as supporting counsel on transactional matters and deals, including acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and strategic relationships. * Collaborate with internal clients on review and drafting of company policies and internal processes. * Manage disputes and litigation matters. * Provide support for complex international business issues. * Serve as legal representative on cross-functional internal teams and interact with external counsel, advisors, vendors, customers, regulators, and business partners. * As a key element of all duties, the successful candidate will be required to identify critical legal issues and risks, assess potential legal alternatives, and provide the appropriate analysis and advice. * Support other initiatives assigned by management. EDUCATION: Law degree from an accredited law school. An active license in good standing to practice law in Florida, or another state or the District of Columbia, with the ability to attain Authorized House Counsel Certification in Florida upon employment offer. EXPERIENCE:3-6 years of experience in corporate, contract, business and transactional law after receiving law degree. Experience working in a logistics business is a plus. Some law firm experience preferred. TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY:Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint; legal research skills in Westlaw. COMPETENCIES:Focus on customer service and accomplishing business goals. Good judgment and decision-making skills. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external business partners. Ability to function effectively both with and as part of a team. Ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously and interact professionally and effectively. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and engage in independent decision-making commensurate with experience. Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, policies, procedures, correspondence and other written materials. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to read and understand complex contracts, regulatory documents, and regulations. OTHER:Domestic and international travel may be required. JOB SCOPE: Position impacts multiple business units/segments. WORKING CONDITIONS:Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
