Responsibilities

This individual exhibits a comprehensive understanding of cardiac patients and cardiovascular laboratory procedures. Responsible for the identification and development of technical training in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, and CV Holding. Maintains technical staff competencies. Provides knowledge of internal procedures and support for the strategic implementation of new procedures. Key components of the role center on professional communication, project management, program development, and analysis of data systems and processes. Must be able to define, prioritize and achieve goals and objectives with a focus on outcomes. The role is expected to be self-managed, perform duties independently, and work within a team. Develops and maintains effective relationships with a variety of individuals throughout the institution. Evaluates changes in operations that will have an impact on other areas of the organization and coordinates change strategies with appropriate leadership. The CV Lab Coordinator facilitates problem solving through the development of alternate approaches and solutions; identifies areas to improve quality of services; and investigates new approaches to delivery of healthcare in accordance with institutional goals and objectives. Responsible for the technical equipment in the Cardiac Lab. Provides engineering support for the cardiac lab monitoring/imaging functions. Incumbent is responsible for equipment maintenance and collaboration with cardiac lab technologists to ensure equipment is functioning accurately. Assists Consultants and lab management with equipment specification and purchasing. Supports lab information system activities.

Qualifications

Requires four-year college degree in a technical field, or vocational technical training with two to three years of specialized job-related training, or equivalent. The position requires an individual competent in all specialized and technical aspects of electronics, digital processing techniques and medical electronic imaging systems. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills are also required. RCIS certification required. Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS competency from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
