Job Summary:

To provide system-level support including determining departmental needs and the installation, configuration, maintenance, and analysis of systems.

 

 

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and two (2) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education/experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of computer systems, equipment, and applications. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal, customer service, and analytical skills. Ability to collect and analyze information, draw valid conclusions and develop solutions. Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot system software. Ability to install, test, and maintain operating software and hardware. Ability to prepare reports and maintain records and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Gathers data to identify customer requirements and to analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems.
• Establishes measurable system performance requirements to meet systems design objectives and requirements. Plans, tests, modifies, troubleshoots, debugs, and maintains system software.
• Analyzes and evaluates business procedures or problems to define data processing needs; monitors production processing to maximize utilization of systems.
• Provides consultation, training and technical assistance to end-users.
• Researches and recommends hardware and software purchases to enhance system use.
• Designs, develops, and maintains customized reports. Maintains applicable records and documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical and Environmental Demands Requires occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional travelling to offsite locations, occasional work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, ccasional reaching, frequent sitting, frequent standing, frequent twisting, and frequent walking. (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more)
