Eaton Corporation Quality Inspector Supervisor (Metrology) in Jackson, Mississippi

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Quality Inspector Supervisor (Metrology). This position is based at our Jackson, MS facility.

The Jackson facility has approximately 500 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year.

The Quality Inspector Supervisor (Metrology) oversees the quality inspection team and ensures the precision and accuracy of aerospace components through metrology practices. This role is responsible for leading and mentoring the inspection team, developing, and implementing inspection procedures, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications. The role also provides support and expertise in all aspects of Plant Quality Systems functions.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of quality inspectors in metrology; assign tasks and manage workload distribution among team members.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence.

  • Oversee the inspection of aerospace components using various metrology tools and techniques, including CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines), calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments.

  • Develop and maintain inspection procedures and work instructions.

  • Ensure all inspections are conducted according to industry standards, customer requirements, and company policies.

  • Review and analyze inspection data to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Identify non-conformances and oversee corrective and preventive actions.

  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues.

  • Maintain and update quality records and documentation.

  • Train new inspectors in metrology practices, tools, and quality standards.

  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the inspection team.

  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and other relevant quality standards.

  • Participate in internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.

  • Maintain calibration schedules and ensure all measurement equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the inspection department.

  • Analyze inspection processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Stay updated with advancements in metrology and inspection technologies.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in quality inspection, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory role.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 60 miles of the Jackson, MS facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using metrology equipment such as CMM, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools. Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

  • Certifications: ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or similar certifications.
