This position is for an Electrical / Data Wire Runner with a company in Jackson, MS.
Summary: Savard has an immediate need for entry-level communications/structured cabling technician to service customers in the Central Mississippi region. You may be required to work nights, weekends or travel depending on project requirements. Applicants must pass a background investigation, be able to work in both office and outside environments, climb a ladder, and carry boxes weighing 50lbs. You may be asked to work independently or with a Team. This position will rough-in cables, support structures and pathways, pull cable, drop cable down through walls, terminate cables, build closets and perform fire-stopping procedures and follow prints. Solutions oriented and attention to detail are critical.
Education and Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience installing cabling and data equipment. Must have commercial and large scale cabling experience. Must be able to travel within the state at times Installation of and working with Cat 5 Cat 6, fiber and copper cabling Installation and troubleshooting of a variety of telecommunications products, including but are not limited to routers, switches, modems, Ethernet, and Ethernet backhaul communications products. Install data infrastructure including but not limited to Phone Systems, cabling, and termination of coax, copper, fiber optics, and related materials. Setup terminals and racks; install data equipment and label of all installed wiring and equipment. Supports key projects, providing day-to-day updates to Senior Technicians and managers as directed. Maintain and have at the ready all necessary equipment and tools to effectively address the needs of your dispatch that will enable you to follow all specifications, codes, and standards. Collaborates with team members, actively participating in discussions toward achieving results. Ensure and maintain a clean driving record. Contribute to ensuring a safe and healthful workplace. Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills. Strong attention to detail. Must pass a drug screen. Must have a valid drivers license. Must have a clean driving record. Must pass an extensive background check.
Shifts: Monday - Friday 7: 00 AM to 3:30 PM O/T when we need to finish a job or as required. Must work if needed on Saturday or Emergency call outs.
Pay: $15-$20 an / hr depending on experience.
