Description
Job Description: The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technician performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations and other related procedures. Inserts small catheters through a needle into the blood vessels and heart to allow x-ray, angiograms, and other recordings to be taken and determine heart structure and function. Schedules and observes time-management techniques according to departmental productivity and efficiency standards while observing a quality patient care experience. Adheres to the infection control and ALARA guidelines as related to the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
Requirements: Complete an associate degree or certificate program in cardiovascular technology or a related field. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification.

Core services include diagnostic and surgical cardiac services, obstetrics and women’s health, cancer care, emergency department with FastTrack, orthopedics, inpatient adult behavioral health services, neurosurgery and general surgical services. Merit Health Central is home to Mississippi’s first non-invasive stereotactic radiosurgery and only designated burn center and is one of the first hospitals in the nation to add a PET/CT.

Experience
Preferred
- 2 years: Two (2) years of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory experience in a high volume setting is preferred.
