Fastemps is hiring for an experienced Screw Machine Operator! MUST have at least 1 year of experience!

Location: Jackson, MI

Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM; overtime may be required, typically scheduled on 10-hour days Monday through Friday.

Pay Rate: $18 - $20 per hour, depending on experience

Job Description: The Screw Machine Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of six spindle screw machines, including Acme Gridley and Greenlee models. The role involves setting up machines, monitoring operations, adjusting as necessary for quality and efficiency, and ensuring production meets specified tolerances and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate screw machines to produce precision-machined parts.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure parts are produced according to specifications.
• Conduct quality checks using measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
• Make adjustments to machine settings to maintain product quality and optimize production efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure they operate effectively.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards at all times.
• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a screw machine operator.
• Proficiency in setting up and operating Acme Gridley and/or Greenlee screw machines preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of machining processes and materials.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
