Large utility is looking for an Electrical Engineer in Jackson, MI. The Electrical Engineer provides technical engineering support for the design, construction, and maintenance of electrical systems at natural gas facilities, ensuring compliance, safety, and collaboration across departments to meet project goals. This is a contract position estimated to last 13 months, possible extension, possible temp to perm. Apply Now!

work hours: 8am to 4pm

responsibilities:

  • Perform project engineering and design tasks for electrical, instrumentation, and control systems at natural gas facilities.

  • Conduct product and process research to support utility operations.

  • Provide field technical support and act as an on-site project representative.

  • Develop and maintain engineering standards in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate with departments including Operations, Supply Chain, Project Management, and others for project alignment and resource sharing.

  • Support planning, design, construction, and maintenance of electrical systems and related infrastructure.

  • Deliver engineering services accurately, on time, and under budget, ensuring adherence to standards and laws.

  • Use CAD software and engineering tools for drafting and creating project documents.

Skills:

  • Knowledge and/or experience in utility operations.

  • Knowledge and/or experience with National Electrical Code/NFPA 70 and Electrical System Design/Installation.

  • Ability to solve complex problems, taking new perspectives using existing solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Skills to lead, problem solve, and work well in a team environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) degree from an ABET accredited program or

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program with 4 years of relevant experience.
