Actalent Design Engineer in Jackson, Michigan

Job Title: Design Engineer

Job Description

As the Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the entire development lifecycle, from concept to commissioning, with a primary focus on design engineering. For each new product, you will start by sketching initial concepts and creating 3D models of the equipment. You will then use simulation tools to assess the effectiveness of your designs. Additionally, you will provide support to the manufacturing team and customers during the equipment's manufacturing, assembly, and delivery processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop machinery projects from concept to commissioning.

  • Sketch concepts and create 3D models of new equipment.

  • Use simulation tools to evaluate design effectiveness.

  • Provide support to manufacturing teams and customers during production and assembly.

  • Design complex machinery including cutting tools, conveyors, robotic controls, vision systems, and packaging tools.

  • Ensure the whole system achieves the desired outcome of neatly packaged buns ready for delivery.

Must Have Qualifications

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).

  • Knowledge of machine design, industrial equipment, and robotic systems.

  • Project leadership skills.

Work Environment

The work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday, averaging around 45 hours per week. This is an on-site position.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $48.07/hr.
