Function and Scope:
The function of this position is to provide direction and leadership to ensure the maintenance, repair, and installation of plant Electrical and Instrumentation equipment and facilities meet department and mill objectives.
Principle Responsibilities:
Develop and implement plans to insure safe work practices and a safe work environment for maintenance personnel.
Ensure effective and efficient utilization of electrical and instrument maintenance personnel.
Provide input to the weekly and shutdown planning processes to ensure manpower assignments are cost effective.
Develop and implement training plans for electrical maintenance employees.
Develop, implement, improve, and monitor the electrical/instrument preventive maintenance program to reduce unscheduled downtime.
Support the operating departments by providing input to shutdown scheduling, long-term equipment decisions and maintenance of existing equipment to ensure maximum uptime.
Arrange for outside services as required to meet department goals.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Basic Qualifications:
BS degree in electrical engineering, pulp and paper science, or equivalent experience with demonstrated management and leadership abilities and a minimum of five years maintenance experience in kraft operations.
Knowledge of operation, repair, and maintenance of electrical/instrument equipment, key maintenance indicators, and pulp and paper industry.
